Diseases Screened For By Body Scans

Body scanning is performed to help diagnose many diseases by utilizing Electron Beam Topography (EBT) and a special heliac CT scan. Both are non-invasive and offer instant results the majority of the time.

To detect heart disease, an EBT heart scan is the method of choice as it detects coronary artery disease. The EBT heart scan has been approved by the FDA and may be more effective than a CT scan as it detects calcification of the arteries at an earlier stage.

EBT also has been approved for early lung cancer detection. The lung cancer scan is also good for detecting tumors, any irregularities in the intestines and disorders in the kidneys or the liver. The EBT cancer scan provides early diagnosis in many types of cancer.

A colon cancer scan is performed with both CT and EBT scans. This procedure is called a virtual colonoscopy. They are less invasive than a regular colonoscopy. A virtual colonoscopy is the best colon scan for people that are scared of the more invasive colonoscopy.

With an EBT body scan, you are fully clothed and exposure to radiation is minimal. The electron beam goes through the body producing 3D images and giving the physician excellent views. This offers views of the body from the shoulders to the hips and is why it is referred to as a full body scan.

With the CT scan, the machine rotates around the patient, giving a spiral view. The CT scan is effective from head to toe and producing quick results.
